Local Involvement
MEDLIFE is actively involved with bringing vital services to the Los Angeles community through volunteering with multiple local non-profit organizations.

The Keck Street Medicine team serves the unhoused community of Los Angeles through providing direct care on the streets, reaching individuals who are not living in shelters and as do not have access to medical care. This past year, USC MEDLIFE assembled and donated over 300 care packages with essential items such as food, hygiene products, sunscreen, and water to the Street Medicine team to distribute to the individuals they serve.
The Midnight Mission is an organization that provides services to unhoused individuals and families on Skid Row. Founded in 1914, the organization not only offers shelter and meals, but takes an approach that provides the structure and resources for individuals to achieve change who may be facing challenges in doing so. MEDLIFE gives health presentations, participates in food service, and distributes hygiene items through The Midnight Mission.

Water Drop LA is an organization that combats water insecurity by providing clean water to undeserved communities in Los Angeles. USC MEDLIFE volunteers with with Water Drop LA on their water drops, where water and other necessities are distributed by car to hundreds of unhoused individuals experiencing water insecurity in Skid Row every weekend.

USC MEDLIFE also volunteers with the St. Francis Center, which has been fulfilling its mission of providing relief in the form of food, support, and essential items to unhoused and low income individuals and families in Los Angeles since 1972. In the past, our members have volunteered at the breakfast serve, helping distribute freshly made food and welcoming anyone to sit and share a meal at a table or to go.
